Visitors come for the film town streets and shows, the large water park, and the volcano hot springs, and many combine them into a single day out.

What the resort includes

The resort is an open area rather than a single gated park: entering the resort and its grounds generally carries no main gate ticket, while individual attractions and venues inside charge separately. These include the volcano hot spring valley and the venues within Mission Hills New Town.

The Haikou Mission Hills Film Town is a real filming location for well-known film and television productions, including Youth, Catching a Spy and The Little Nyonya. Rather than a single static set, it combines historical scenes with working businesses, and visitors can dress up and take photos for an immersive experience.

Film Town: streets, shows and dressing up

At the Film Town you can stroll the streets, watch large-scale performances, dress up for photos and even take part as an extra. The Prelude version of the show Nanyang Past has a strongly interactive format, with the audience drawn into the performance.

A full-pass ticket covers the three themed areas: Jiangcheng Ballad · Youth, Nanyang Tide and East Is Red. Promotional discounts have been offered on this pass; check current prices and any conditions on the official channels before you go.

Water park and hot springs

The resort has a water park covering more than 20,000 square metres, with a range of water activities. It suits families and makes a good way to cool off in summer, and can form part of a day at the resort.

The Haikou Mission Hills Volcano Hot Spring Valley is close to the city centre, easy to reach and well equipped, and is suitable for bringing children. It is a separately ticketed attraction, with entry starting from a modest price depending on season and ticket type. Many visitors combine a hot spring soak with a visit to the Film Town in one day.

Golf

Haikou Mission Hills Golf offers packages for visitors who want to stay and play, including a two-night, two-round package with a choice of two courses from the South Course numbers 6, 7, 9 and 10. A ten-round card is also available for Course 9, covering ten 18-hole green fees, caddie, shared cart and changing room use. Confirm current prices and scheduling on official channels.

Suggested one-day route

For a National Day visit to Haikou, one reference route links Mission Hills Film Town with Haikou Volcanic Cluster Global Geopark and the West Coast Pedestrian Street. This suits a one-day itinerary; plan around each site's opening hours.

Practical information

Address: Mission Hills New Town, 39 Yangshan Avenue, Binhai Subdistrict, Haikou. The resort is open in layout, with no main gate ticket; individual attractions charge separately. Prices and promotions change, so check the official website or official account for current tickets and opening status before travelling. A limited-time free-ticket offer for visitors over 60 and under 18 was run at Bainian Jiyi Commune around the end of 2023 and start of 2024; it was a time-limited, group-specific promotion, not a standing policy.
